SHOULDER CAT PRODUCTIONS

Oh, hi!

It started with a photo eleven years ago featuring a cat who just kept trying his luck. 9 years later, in a slightly drunken bid to cheer up a friend at an aftershow party, it became a theatre production company name. I mean, we needed a name for the company anyway for the launch of new shows, so Shoulder Cat Productions it was. 

Shoulder Cat was launched officially in 2025 with our shows at the Brighton Fringe. Formed by multi award-winning writer/performer, Paul Richards, the company produces his usual eight million solo shows but also full cast stuff, too. We love the Edinburgh Fringe (Paul himself has been taking shows up there for over 20 years and he's not even that old) but our work goes way beyond that, too. Big shows, small shows, festival shows, house shows. Good to be busy, yeah?

We're based in Cambridge, but barely spend any time performing around here. Alongside the live shows, we're really rather into radio productions, so expect plenty of that, maybe the odd film, and also some educational activities as we look to encourage the next generation of playwrights and storytellers. We plan to do a lot, maybe possibly, everything, and it'll be utterly lovely to have you with us on this journey.
